Wow, so hi. I just realized it has been almost a month to the day since I've posted on here. I wish this wasn't the case, but honestly, my blog has not been even close to being on my list of things to think about lately. I couldn't even really tell you what I've been doing, I just feel like I've been so busy and haven't had time to do a post. I don't want to just throw some words and pictures on here just to get a post done, I want to make sure they're good and quality. Sooooooo that being said, I have a couple ideas for posts and I'm going to do one of them right now!
Lately I've been trying to try a lot of new and different products. I realize that if I want to be a good makeup artist or if I want to be able to give people good advice on products, I have to start trying new brands and new products instead of just using the same things all the time. So there have been some expensive products and some cheaper ones, products that I've LOVED and products that I've hated and I'm going to share them right here. So here are some of my product reviews, with pictures and links included :)

primers
I usually sware by the Smashbox Photo Finish or the NARS Pro-Prime Multiprotect but I decided to try two new ones. First I got Benefit's Porefessional, and I have to say I LOVE IT. It makes my skin appear smooth and poreless and it makes my foundation go on so smooth. This could be a new primer that I keep re-buying, and I definitely recommend it. The second one I bought was Benefit's Dr. Feelgood, and this one I did not like at all. First of all it smells like lavender, and I am not a fan of lavender. At all. So besides that, it comes with a sponge applicator, which after 5 or 6 uses, became dirty and caked with product. It was very hard to apply, and it didn't do anything to help my skin or my foundation in any way.
You can get all of these primers from Sephora or Ulta in store or online.
Foundations
When it comes to foundation I always kind of play it safe, because once I found a foundation that can cover all my redness and even out my skin tone, then I'm pretty much sold. But I decided to try some new ones out. My favorites that I've already owned are the MAC Studio Face and Body, the Tarte BB Cream, or the Calvin Klein One Color.
I decided to try a drugstore foundation to save money, which I've never done before, and now I see why. I think when it comes to foundation it's worth the extra $$$ to get something that matches your skin color and works with your skin type. I decided to try the Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect. It completely dried out my skin and filled in every single line and crack on my face. It didn't blend well at all, and after using it three times, I decided the investment in foundation is always worth it. So, next I tried the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW after a friend told me that it was "the most amazing thing to ever put on your face". And to be honest, it kind of is. I'm a little bit obsessed with it, and the way it makes my skin look and feel. It gives a smooth, flawless coverage without feeling like I have a lot of product on my face and it covers all my redness and evens out the tone of my skin. I'm in love.

Eyes
The rest of these are kind of just random, but I just felt like I couldn't leave them out. I SWARE by my Lorac Pro Palette, but I recently found a really inexpensive alternative to it, and I am really really excited about it. Maybelline recently came out with a 12 color palette, and although the colors aren't exactly the same, they are universally flattering and useful. I love this palette, the shadows are surprisingly pigmented and blendable, and I definitely recommend it if anyone is looking for a new go to palette to take from day to night.
You can get the Lorac palette at Ulta in store and online and the Maybelline palette can be found in drugstores, grocery stores, or Target.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils are pretty much the best thing ever. Use one of these over your entire lid, and you've got an instant eye look in like two seconds. I have the shade "Milk" which is a white pencil that I use on my inner corner and under my brow to highlight, and "Iced Mocha" which is a shimmery brown that I just pop onto my lid when I'm lazy, blend it out a bit, and walk out the door. They are super cheap and they have a lot of different shades and yeah you should just go get some.
You can get NYX products at Ulta and Target in stores and online.
So, those are the main things I have been trying lately. I got some other new products, but I haven't used them enough to include in this post, but hopefully I'll be doing more of these in the future. Thank you so much for continuing to check in and support my blog even though I haven't been keeping up with it as consistently lately. I appreciate it so much.
